HOJYO Takashi

Hojyo-san holds a Ph.D. in biology from the prestigious Tokyo University and works for a major Japanese pharmaceutical company researching medicines to combat strokes. A brilliant young man, he also has a great sense of artistry, treating his subject matter with sensitivity. His models reflect a wide range of interests, ranging from prehistoric creatures to fantastic figures. Sometimes, he will even sit in a local park and "sketch" the people he sees using origami. Hojyo-san was also the winner of second origami competition that was produced as part of the television series, TV Champion. His current works focus on human figures, especially Buddhist characters.
